Lynsey is a certified Professional Dog Trainer, certified Trick Instructor, and a
member of both the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and the Pet
Professionals Guild (PPG). She is an evaluator for the APDT Canine Life and Social
Skills (C.L.A.S.S.) program, the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen
program, and the United Kennel Club. A graduate of the Tom Rose School for
Professional Dog Trainers, Lynsey attended both the Professional and the Master
Trainer programs. With a Bachelors degree in Education, Lynsey is skilled at
teaching owners, in addition to their dogs.
Since 2003 she has been working with dogs at various kennels, at her own
boarding/daycare/training facility, Infinite Pawsibilities, and individually in and
around the St. Louis and St. Charles areas. In addition to working in the pet
industry, she is also a trainer for Logan Haus Kennels Canine Trainer's Course, as
well as a trainer with Got Your Six Support Dogs. She has experience with a wide
variety of breeds and mixes of all ages, sizes and types. She regularly fosters and
rehabs dogs for placement into permanent homes. With her own personal dogs,
she has been training for years in various dog sports, including Agility, Obedience,
Rally Obedience, Iron Dog Events, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, Nose Work, and Schutzhund/IPO, and has competed at a national level. She follows the theories of operant conditioning and, through continuing education programs, stays up to date on the most current theories and practices of positive dog training.
Kendell has been training dogs both personally and professionally for more than 14 years in various disciplines and sports – including obedience, rally, agility, flyball, barn hunt, detection/nose work, weight pull, and protection. She is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Trainer, as well as an Iron Dog International Temperament Test Judge and American Temperament Test Society Apprentice Tester. Kendell has been a Weight Pull judge with several organizations, including the International Weight Pull Association, National Working Dog Association, and Iron Dog.
Currently with Mike Ritland’s Trikos International, Kendell manages content and provides training direction to the thousands of members worldwide in the Team Dog training community. She also helps coordinate grant efforts for the Warrior Dog Foundation, raising funds to support the care and rehabilitation of retired Special Operations K9s. She has a strong interest in canine health and nutrition, and has worked extensively on physical therapy for the injured canine. Kendell is a strong proponent for working safely to avoid injury while training. She has a strong background in learning theory, operant conditioning, and canine nutrition.
Kendell has trained and competed with her personal dogs in a variety of sports, most notably climbing to the top ranked international weight pull dog and winning a national championship with her Belgian Malinois, Gadda. She has raised several puppies and young dogs for police and military applications, as well as prepared dogs for therapy work.
